T O P I C R E V I E WParallelToucanI don't know what it is, but ever since I have moved from being a child and have grown into adolescence I developed a major problem with communication as well as being in the spot light. I have always been able to focus when I put my mind to things, but when it comes to talking with a large group of people, being put in a "spotlight," or just simply being comfortable in my own skin around other people; I have always had a problem since growing up. This isn't some early phase either, I'm 29 years old, and it is still a problem within my life. I don't know what it is, but I can't have an out of body experience, so I don't really know how to outline the problem at all. People around me tell me that they don't see any problem at all, so maybe it's just within my head? I don't know what to think though, but I do know that I don't like to fail at anything that I do, including having a conversation with people. Is there some kind of weird, intrinsic, meshed energies within my chart that are causing some kind of strange energies, mindsets within my mind? Why have I always struggled or felt like I have struggled when it comes to communication? Is it because I don't like communicating or something? I know that I love people, but for some reason I'm always uncomfortable when it comes to socializing. I consider myself a normal person, but I feel like I have to gear up to go into battle every time anything to do with socializing with other people becomes a possibility. Am I not intelligent enough to understand or grasp how to have a conversation with people or be comfortable in my own skin? Seriously, what's the deal? I can't surely be that unintelligent. I did learn English in school and I know the English language. I have sought out help in the past over the internet because I had I suppose what people deem as "social anxiety disorder." Which to me is just a name, just like any other "problem." I don't believe in most mental disorders but that's for another discussion, it doesn't matter, the problem is that I don't like to be afraid of anything, and that includes people. I'd like to take care of this issue once and for all. I don't want to be afraid of anything any longer and I'd like to outline the problem so I can see it up in front of me and destroy it once and for all.Sorry about all of the compound conjunctions in sentences or whatever it is called. Grammar ****** me off a lot of times. My goal is to get my point across and hopefully I have done that. I also don't need some kind of psycho Virgo energy analyzing every single spec or spot on the used car lot either. I'm just looking for someone tell me how to defeat this problem once in for all. I'm sick and tired of having awkward family get togethers. I have tried to walk off into other rooms, take deep breaths, and really collect myself as a person, but for some reason the spot light always seems to get drawn to me somehow and I never know how to tackle/handle it in a good way. I don't like to be in the spot light, so if going to social gatherings always produces some kind of "putting me in the spotlight" type of situation then I think I'd rather just **** em out of existence entirely because I'm getting tired of this nonsense. I've even thought about just showing up for a few minutes during holidays, just to say "Hey, how's it going?" and then leave by saying, "I just wanted to say hi to everyone" and then leave. Of course though, every time I want to be honest it just creates an awkward moment/atmosphere. So I always feel guilty in leaving and end up staying because I don't want anyone to feel out of place.Anyways, with all of these mumbo jumbo, useless, incoherent rambling on my part, is there some kind of fuckery going on within my chart that's causing all of this psychotic mess within my brain? Thanks.ScandinavianCrabYes there is a way.Start practicing meditation or yoga. Post your chart.I actually agree with the yoga advice. When you centre yourself, eveything starts from there. And you don't need a class, you can try to do it on your own in the morning. 10 minutes in breathing exercises each day.The result will not be that you suddenly become extroverted. But you will be better able to pin point bottleneck areas. My social anxiety was at its peak in 96/97 and started to lift slowly after that. At the time, transit Neptune was squaring Pluto in the 7th. I assumed that it was just growing pains.I felt more awkward and out of place. It was very strange. I couldn't explain it either and add to that, I also felt that the spotlight was on me most times. What helped tbh was focusing on things that I was good at and that created more great feelings. I participated in long distance running as that is where I felt confident. I only focused on things I was good at i.e drama, athletics and school-work. I tried to steer clear of situations or people that made me feel uncomfortable.I have to admit however that extended family members visiting and thereby coming into the personal spacee etc. didn't help matters. Having Saturn there may tell it may take time and patience. By the way, the sun in a water house is not easily read by others. People with suns in these houses (4, 8 & 12) are harder to get to know. So, even if you feel anxious, it could be others are not guessing that... Maybe you have trouble communicating because you feel inwardly different (Uranus), even if this feeling is unconscious. I understand you feel like at 29 you have to already tackle this issue. My idea is that you see a hypnotherapist who can help you discover what is in the root of your fear, and help release your inner abilities. I've heard hypnosis can do wonders. Start practicing meditation or yoga.
You will learn to aknowledge the specific thoughts that make you feel thoose things that youre describing.
When you have practice a while you will learn to do what ever you want with that anxiety - experience it or just let it go.
It aint easy and you wont get there from just a few days of practicing.Look around your area and find a class or a retreat that will set you off.
If you want you can be the master of your own fate. But it will take some hard work in the beginning and only you can decide if its worth it.

if you give 1000% and you fail, then you try a new tactic because whatever you put 1000% of yourself into didn't work
sometimes more effort in the same direction does **** all and then you're beating a dead horse with 2000% of your energy
it's possible to try too hard, and saturn in the 3rd can sometimes do that in an effort to be exact you go too hard and still end up in the wrong place
relax and it might flow a little easier
i think people being able to read you well is more an aries moon thing, i have one too
when i feel something i can't hide it because it's intensely there and it's a knee jerk reaction for me to immediately react, which isn't bad really because it means that i'm being genuine, but i guess if i was into hiding **** for whatever reason (which you being an 8th house sun, scorpio ascendant might make you more inclined to do) i wouldn't care for it
the sun doesn't quite light up the 8th house in that way, in vedic in particular the 8th house is a bit like the 12th in that it's considered a bit of a loss to have a placement there
goes below the depths instead of being on the surface
edit: btw i'd equate the discomfort to your sun-moon square

I have no idea what a "Sun-moon square" is.
quote:Originally posted by ParallelToucan: I have no idea what a "Sun-moon square" is.
it means your sun and moon are roughly 90 degrees apart, creates an aspect called a square which is considered a hard aspect (it's that red line between your sun and moon in the chart, and on the grid well...it's that square; all those lines and **** show the relationship between those parts of yourself) because it creates tension between those two parts of yourself in a way that doesn't quite have any balance
your discomfort at being easily read comes from your self (sun) being at odds with the way your emotions (moon) are displayed, 8th house sun, mercury and scorpio ascendant all giving you a need for secrecy though i don't know any geminis who like all their **** to be on display either
aries moon though is like i said not the best at hiding immediate feelings

Thank you, Dumuzi.
If that is indeed the case, there are no interceptions or duplicated houses in PT's natal chart.
However, if that 8th house cusp is actually in Taurus, PT might find it helpful to read what is written about intercepted signs and houses at https://shenjiva.com/p15.4-5.23-13_singletons-and-intercepted-signs-and-houses.php and at http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/Intercepted_signs.htm
My own theory about this - based upon the work of Joanne Wickenburg and Virginia Meyer - is that a (childhood conditioning) problem in PT's first and 7th houses will be creating an issue in the 2nd and 8th houses that is now preventing her from making the best/most effective use of the positive qualities of Gemini and Sagittarius (+ any natal planets located within them).
So ... one would need to look carefully at what happened during the childhood/adolescence of PT that influenced her self-image (1st house) and self-worth (2nd house) in a way that now prevents her from being comfortable when expressing her thoughts to others (Gemini, Sun, Mercury intercepted in 8th house of other people's values).
